Gander Mtn sale on 12 and 20ga slugs, 1.49 a box
 
Gander mountain: Federal premium slugs 12 or 20 ga, 5 round boxes 1.49 after 2.00 mail in rebate, limit 5 boxes for the rebate.

Don't know how long the sale is on for, but the rebate slip is good for purchases from now till december 31.

What is the purpose of slugs?? You have to be pretty dam accurate with it.... the beauty of buckshot is you can catch a whole wad of people and not even have to think about it.

Slugs are more for hunting massive game as a opposed to defense no ??

In a house the spread of buckshot is minimal. Even at the extremes of most hallways you're looking at a baseball sized pattern, grapefruit if you're lucky.

When dealing with shooting at someone beyond 50 yards (roughly) you really need to be shooting slugs, even with slugs 100 yards is basically your maximum range.

As far as hitting a "whole wad of people" have you ever patterned your gun and ammo? You'll be surprised.

I believe the deal also includes both. The ones I got a sabots because I have a smooth barrel.

Slugs hurt really bad when they hit you.

Watch Terminator 2. The only thing Arnold used to slow down the advanced terminator was slugs in the shotgun, not buckshot.

Do not attempt to take on a Terminator with buckshot or you will be sadly disappointed.

That's the reason to use slugs. Terminators.
